About This Tour
This 8-day Morocco itinerary begins in Tangier at the Strait of Gibraltar and continues to Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains. It includes stops at the Roman ruins of Volubilis, the imperial city of Meknes, and Fes with its preserved medina.
Traveling south, it passes through the Middle Atlas Mountains with visits to Ifrane and the Cedar Forests. In Merzouga, travelers ride camels to a desert camp and visit nomadic families and Khamlia village. The route then follows through Todra Gorges, Dades Valley, Rose Valley, and Ait Ben Haddou before crossing the High Atlas Mountains to end in Marrakech. Lodging is in riads and hotels, with guided cultural experiences throughout.

The day starts with a walk through Chefchaouen’s old town, visiting the Kasbah Museum and Grand Mosque. Afternoon visits cover the Quaraouine Mosque and University (founded 859 CE), the Jewish Quarter, and a hilltop fortress for medina views. Return to the riad for evening leisure or local dining.

After lunch, drive to Dades Valley via Boumalne Dades, stopping at the “Monkey Fingers” rock formation and scenic overlooks. Check in to a hotel in the Dades Valley for dinner and overnight.
